¿Dónde Está Elisa?(Where is Elisa?) is a working title of a Spanish-language telenovela produced by the United States-based television network Telemundo. The melodrama is a remake of Chilean Soap Opera: ¿Dónde Está Elisa? produced by TVN in 2009. [1]

Telemundo will likely air the serial from Monday to Friday over about 26 weeks during the 2010-2011 season.[2] As with most of its other soap operas, the network will broadcast English subtitles as closed captions on CC3.[3]

According to its original writer (Pablo Illanes), inspiration of the story comes from the real life drama of British native Madeleine McCann in Portugal, but unlike the McCann story, in the soap opera it is a youngster that disappears and not a little kid. The disappearance in a local club makes the story very similar to that of Jorge Matute Johns, a Chilean youngster who disappeared and was never seen again after coming out of a party at a local disco. The list of suspects is long and it includes family members, fellow students, and friends of the youngster that went to the same places that she used to go to before disappearing.

The first infomercial or preview of the production was shown on Tuesday January 13, 2009.

The lives of the Domínguez family will change forever. Their lives will go around the events in the disappearance of Elisa (Laura Perico), one of the daughters of the marriage between Raimundo Domínguez (Gabriel Porras) and Francisca Correa (Sonya Smith).

Once she disappears, we begin to learn the secrets of every member of the family and friends; the paranoias start, histories from the past, themes that were supposed to be buried and the recriminations among family members start.

All these events lead us into having a long list of suspects, among them family members (uncles, cousins, and including her parents), fellow students, former workers of the Domínguez and several friends that used to go to the same places she was going before disappearing
