Ryan Omead Fowler (born May 20, 1982 in Tampa, Florida) is an American football linebacker for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2004. He played college football at Duke.

Fowler has also played for the Tennessee Titans.

Dallas Cowboys

He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Duke University by the Dallas Cowboys.
He spent most of 2004 on the Cowboys' practice squad, but appeared in two games.
In 2005, he was a backup inside linebacker, appearing in 14 games and starting three. In 2006, he lost the battle for a starting Linebacker spot on the Dallas Cowboys teammate Bradie James and was again a reserve.

Tennessee Titans

As a restricted free agent, Fowler signed an offer sheet with the Tennessee Titans on March 12, 2007. The Dallas Cowboys did not match the Titans' offer so Fowler joined the Titans.

One June 9, 2008, it was announced that Fowler is under investigation in connection with an apparent steroids case involving NFL steroid dealer David Jacobs.[1]

On September 28, 2008, Fowler was benched by the Titans in favor of 2006 4th round draft pick, Stephen Tulloch.[2] Fowler was waived on September 5, 2009.[3]

New York Jets

Fowler was signed by the New York Jets on September 8, 2009, with the team releasing fullback Jason Davis to make room on the roster.[4]
