Ryota Igarashi (五十嵐亮太 Igarashi Ryōta ?, born May 28, 1979 in Chiba, Chiba, Japan) is a relief pitcher for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball. He previously pitched for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of Nippon Professional Baseball.

Igarashi was drafted by the Swallows in the 2nd round in the 1998 draft. He missed the entire 2007 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, but pitched well in his return in 2008.

In 2008, Igarashi declined to file for domestic free agency, with the intention of becoming an international free agent in the 2009 offseason.[1] On December 16, 2009, He agreed to a two-year contract with the New York Mets.[2]
