S. P. Rajkumar is an Indian film director, who primarily directs Tamil language action films.
He started his film career as a dialogue writer for the 1996 film Once More. In 2000, he directed his first feature film En Purushan Kuzhanthai Maathiri, which was an average grosser. His subsequent ventures Ponmanam (2002) and Karmegam (2003) were highly successful and went unnoticed. Only after six years, he started his next project Azhagar Malai, which did average business at the box office. He is currently directing his fifth feature film, titled Sura, starring Vijay in the lead role, thus directing a popular actor for the first time.
