SB-649,915 is a psychoactive drug and research chemical that is being investigated for its antidepressant and anxiolytic properties.[1] It acts as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, 5-HT1A receptor antagonist, and 5-HT1B receptor antagonist. In contrast to other current antidepressants such as the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), SB-649,915 has a fast onset of action and may also likely have greater efficacy than the SSRIs. This is likely due to blockade of 5-HT1A autoreceptors which inhibit serotonin release.
