Sadegh Mahsouli was the interior minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran in President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's first cabinet from 2008 to 2009.He is Minister of Welfare and Social Security of Iran since November 19, 2009 in the Ahmadinejad's second cabinet.
Mahsouli had been appointed to head the ministry of internal affairs of Iran after impeachment of Ali Kordan by Iranian parliament in November 2008. Mahsouli withdrew his nomination once when the president nominated him for the position of oil minister.
