Saint Lucia competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.[1] Thanks to the Greek alphabet, Saint Lucia marched out first at the parade of nations at the Opening Ceremony.

Joseph was the second-to-last finisher in the men's marathon, beating the last-placed runner by more than six minutes, but still finishing more than a half-an-hour behind the winner.
