Saint Marcellina
Born 330-335
Died About 398
Title Virgin
Venerated in Catholic Church
Feast July 17

Saint Marcellina (c. 330 – 398) is a Catholic virgin and saint. She was the only sister of Saint Ambrose of Milan. Marcellina was born around the year 330, probably in Trier, where her father resided as praefectus praetorio Galliarum. She elected to live a life of perpetual virginity, and devoted herself to the practice of prayer and asceticism. On Christmas Day, probably in 353, she received the veil of consecrated virginity from the hand of Pope Liberius.

Marcellina died in 398 or shortly afterwards. She was buried in the crypt under the altar of the Ambrosian Basilica, and was honoured as a saint. Her feast is celebrated on July 17.
