Sakkarakatti (Tamil: சக்கரகட்டி) is a 2008 Tamil language film directed by Kalaprabhu. The film is produced by his father Kalaipuli S. Dhanu. The film stars Shanthnoo Bhagyaraj, son of Bhagyaraj, Vedhika and Ishita Sharma. The film has been in production since April 2006. A. R. Rahman has scored the music for the film, which was released on 11 July 2008. "Taxi Taxi" is a current hit in Tamil Nadu known for its rap music.



Wealthy Yuvraj (Shantanoo) has had four close friends from childhood. He meets and falls in love with Deepali (Ishita Sharma). However, his cousin, Reema (Vedhika), is also in love with him. After Deepali sees Yuvraj with Reema, she becomes jealous and his friends decide to throw a birthday party to mend the trio's fractured relationship.


The film was released on 30 October 2008. Composed by A. R. Rahman, the songs were recorded at the Panchathan Record Inn and A.M. Studios in Chennai.

The film grossed over $1 million at the box office in the first 5 weeks, according[1]

Shanthnoo's acting was well received in urban areas, and the songs "Taxi Taxi" and "Marudaani" were chartbusters but the film received relatively poor reviews.

Chinnamma Chilakamma song and Naan Eppoudhu song were re-used from the soundtrack of the Hindi film Meenaxi: A Tale of three cities composed by A.R.Rahman as well. India Haza happens to be the alter-ego of singer Chinmayi as per her blog.
