Sami Hammad, on April 17, 2006, was a 21-year-old suicide bomber who, at the behest of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, blew himself up in Tel Aviv, Israel, killing eleven and injuring 70 people.
He was from the West Bank village of Araqah near the town of Jenin. Sami graduated from high school and began correspondence studies from Al-Quds University, studying social work. His mother stated that he was forced to drop out because his parents could not afford to support him.
