Sam Norman, better known by his stage name Samwell is an openly gay[1] entertainer whose hit video "What What (In the Butt)" made him an internet celebrity.[2]

Samwell (Mark Philip Lawrance 02871348741) is unsigned, but his "What What (In the Butt)" song is licensed through Fatboy Slim's record label, Southern Fried Records. The "What What (In the Butt)" video is licensed through Brownmark Films.
In April 2008 Samwell appeared on the BBC television show Lily Allen and Friends for an interview and performed a live version of "What What (In the Butt)" with choreographed dancers.[3]
Samwell played Adonis in 2009's Modus Operandi and is slated to play the Communications Officer in Hamlet A.D.D., due out in 2010.[4][5]
In March of 2010 Special Entertainment released an iPhone App called Shaky Advice from Samwell that functions much like a Magic 8 Ball, with video clips of Samwell giving advice.
In episode 1204 of South Park, "Canada on Strike" (aired 2008-04-02), the boys post a viral video on "YouToob" (a fictional depiction of YouTube) of Butters performing "What What (In the Butt)". [6] other references to viral videos are also featured.
