Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., also known as Bernstein, is an American financial research firm. It is a unit of the investment management firm AllianceBernstein[1]. Analysts from Sanford Bernstein are commonly cited in the printed media, especially in financial news articles[2][3][4].

Sanford Bernstein was founded by Zalman C. Bernstein (previously known as Sanford Charles Bernstein) in 1967[5]. It was privately held till 2000, when it was acquired by Alliance Capital Management[6]. The firm was noted as one of the major financial institutions donating more than $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation [7].
