Sarbjit Singh Chadha (born June 17, 1952 in New Delhi, India) is an indian singer, who is said to be the first non-Japanese enka singer.[1] He went to Japan for studying agricultural industry, but he began to like enka. He gained popularity via Japanese television program Kinyō 10 Ji: Uwasa no Channel.[2] He debuted as an enka singer with single "Omokage no Hito" (面影の女 ?) under JVC in 1975. The single reportedly sold over 100,000 copies.[3] He soon returned to India because there was a problem of visa. However, he went to Japan again in 2008.[1]
