Premise

Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera), bass guitarist for the garage band Sex Bob-omb, has just met the girl of his dreams. However, he must defeat Ramona Flowers' (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) seven evil ex-boyfriends, who are coming to kill him.

Scott Pilgrim has never had a problem getting a girlfriend. It’s getting rid of them that proves difficult. From the girl who kicked his heart’s ass — and now is back in town — to the teenage distraction he’s trying to shake when Ramona rollerblades into his world, love hasn’t been easy. He soon discovers, however, his new crush has the most unusual baggage of all: a nefarious league of exes control her love life and will do whatever it takes to eliminate him as a suitor.

As Scott gets closer to Ramona, he must face an increasingly vicious rogues’ gallery from her past, from infamous skateboarders to vegan rock stars and fearsomely identical twins. And if he hopes to win his true love, he must vanquish them all before it really is game over.

Cast

Production

Universal Studios contracted Edgar Wright to direct a film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life, the first part of comic book series Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O'Malley. In May 2005, the studio signed Michael Bacall to write the screenplay for the adaptation.[2] By January 2009, filmmakers rounded out its cast for the film, now titled Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.[3]

In May 21, 2009, comic writer and artist of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel, Bryan Lee O'Malley, confirmed on Twitter that no content of the sixth Scott Pilgrim volume would appear in the movie as filming on the movie had already begun a month after the release of "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The Universe" with no solid script yet written for the sixth volume. While he had given ideas and suggestions for the final act of the movie, he admitted to that some of those plans might change throughout the writing process and ultimately stated that "Their ending is their ending".[4]

Filming began in March 2009 in Toronto, Canada.[5][6] Canadian indie rock band Metric will contribute to the film's soundtrack, with unreleased song "Black Sheep". It is available for streaming on their official Facebook page. [7]

On August 28, filming wrapped, and it will enter post-production.[8]

Release

The film is now set for August 13th release world wide.

Video game

A video game will be produced based upon the film. The game will be made by Ubisoft Montreal.[9]
