Sengoku Basara (戦国BASARA) is a TV anime adaption of the Capcom video game series of the same name began airing on April 1, 2009 produced by Production I.G and directed by Itsuro Kawasaki. The opening theme song, JAP, is performed by Abingdon Boys School and the ending song, Break & Peace, is performed by Dustz. A second season was announced at the conclusion of the season finale episode aired in Japan, followed up by Production I.G's website. It will begin broadcast in 2010.[1] At Anime Expo 2009, Funimation Entertainment has announced that it acquired the first season.[1]



In the bloody Warring States period of feudal Japan, many generals fought in an endless struggle for power, but one man proved to be too big a threat - The dark lord Oda Nobunaga. Sanada Yukimura and Date Masamune, two young warriors from different regions who become heated rivals, begin to form an unlikely alliance with the rest of the generals to take down the Devil King.
