Shanghai Disneyland Resort is planned for opening at Shanghai by 2015.^[1] Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, the expected developer of the resort, received permission from the Chinese government on November 4, 2009.^[2] Scouts are looking for a suitable site for a Disney resort on mainland China in addition to the Disney resort currently located in Hong Kong, possibly near Pudong, Shanghai. Disney has announced that there will be no new resort on the Chinese mainland before 2010.^[3]

On November 4, 2009, development was approved for the creation of a Disneyland in Shanghai.^[4][5]

History
