Shante Carver (born February 12, 1971 in Stockton, California) is a former American football defensive end in the National Football League. He played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1994-1997, and later in the Arena Football League with the Dallas Desperados (2001-2004). He played college football at Arizona State University.

College career

Carver attended Arizona State University and was a student and a letterman in football. As a junior and senior, he was a First-team All-America selection and as a senior, in 1993 he and was a finalist for the Outland Trophy.

Professional career

Carver was drafted in the 1st round of the 1994 NFL Draft out of Arizona State by the Dallas Cowboys. He went on to play four years for the Cowboys recording 11.5 sacks. He was also a member of the Dallas Cowboys team that won Super Bowl XXX.

Carver joined the Memphis Maniax of the XFL for its lone season. He was most remembered during his time for delivering two particularly spectacular sacks, one of them on Orlando Rage quarterback Jeff Brohm. After the XFL folded, Carver joined the Dallas Desperados of the Arena Football League to finish out his career.
