Shareth (Malayalam: ശരത്) is a music director and singer. He composes songs mainly in the Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu film industries. He won the Filmfare Award for the best music director in 2008. He is also one of the permanent judges of Idea Star Singer. Shareth made his mark in the Malayalam music industry with a handful of hits. Shareth is also a good Carnatic vocalist and has been under the guidance of maestro Dr M Balamuralikrishna since 1989. He is a music director who dreams of recreating those good old days of film music.



Shareth was born in Kollam in 1964. He started his career under Dr M Balamuralikrishna. His first music direction was for the Malayalam film Kshanakathu in 1990. He is also a playback singer. Currently he is settled in Chennai.
