She Creature (originally billed as Mermaid Chronicles Part 1: She Creature) is a 2001 B-movie about carnival performers in Ireland, circa 1900, who abduct a mermaid and try to smuggle her into the United States. As their ship appears to lose its way, the mermaid begins to show a deadly, almost vampiric side. The film was written and directed by Sebastian Gutierrez and stars Rufus Sewell and Carla Gugino with Rya Kihlstedt as the mermaid. She Creature is the first in a series paying tribute to the films produced by legendary B-movie magnate Samuel Arkoff and his American International Pictures.[1]
She Creature was originally billed as the first part of a series called The Mermaid Chronicles. However, no subsequent films have been produced.
