It has two island platforms (four tracks) on the Tōbu Tōjō Line for services to Yorii, Saitama and Ikebukuro, Shin-Kiba via the Tokyo Metro Yūrakuchō Line, and Shibuya Station via the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line. All services except TJ Liner services stop at this station. During the daytime, local services (four trains per hour) from Ikebukuro terminate here.[2]
Despite its name, the station building is not in Shiki. The city of Shiki has only one station, Yanasegawa Station, which is the next stop after Shiki Station on the Tōjō Line.
The station opened opened on 1 May 1914 coinciding with the opening of the Tōjō Railway line from Ikebukuro.[3]
From 17 July 2008, there is a direct express bus service to/from Narita Airport (via Asakadai Station). The bus stop is on the south side of the station.[4]
