"Sleeping with the Past" is the title track from British pop-rock performer Elton John's 1989 album, Sleeping with the Past. The song's message is to let the past go and not live in it anymore. The song, like all tracks on the album, was inspired by 60's R&B with the main influence being The Miracles.
