Slinfah in winter

Slinfah (Arabic: صلنفة‎, Ṣlenfah) is a Syrian village, founded in 1929, administratively belonging to the governorate of Latakia. It is situated in the mountains called Al-Ansariyah mountains and is 1100 meters above sea level. Slinfah is 50 kilometers east of the capital city, Latakia. Its moderate weather in summer attracts thousands of visitors and tourists but as temperatures drop down in winter and Slinfah gets very cold, so does the population. Slinfah can be reached from the north passing through the village of Qardaha and through the 'Latakia road'. It has two peaks, the peak of the prophet Yunis, which is 1300 meters above sea level, and the Shooh mountains, which are covered by 500 hectares of shooh trees. Slinfah is located near the historical Citadel of Salah Ed-Din.
