Somewhere is an upcoming comedy-drama directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning. Filming began in Los Angeles in June 2009. The film is scheduled to be released in 2010. It will also feature cameo roles from Hugh Hefner's twin girlfriends Karissa and Kristina Shannon (The Girls Next door)

Stephen Dorff plays Johnny Marco, a Hollywood bad-boy, stumbling through a life of excess at the Chateau Marmont when he receives an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter, played by Elle Fanning. Their meeting challenges his lifestyle and forces him to make necessary changes.[2]

Scenes from the film are said to be inspired somewhat by the director's own childhood experiences as the daughter of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.[3]

Federico Fellini's Toby Dammit [4] and Peter Bogdanovich's Paper Moon [5] have also been noted as influences.

Focus Features will distribute Somewhere in North America and most other territories. Pathé will be distributing the film in France, while Tohokushinsha distributes in Japan. Medusa Film has rights in Italy. Somewhere is scheduled to be released sometime in 2010.[7]
