Panic! At The Disco

After their old guitarist Trever left the band they brought in Brendon Urie to join the band, and so the band changed from "Summer League" to Panic! At the Disco. They sent Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy a link to their PureVolume site through LiveJournal, and he asked them to sign with his Fueled by Ramen imprint label, Decaydance. The band released their first album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, on September 27, 2005. It reached #13 on the US Billboard 200, and has sold over 2.2 million copies worldwide. Their follow-up album, Pretty. Odd. was released on March 25, 2008 and debuted at #2 in the US. The band also has a DVD/CD out, ...Live in Chicago.[1] The band is currently working on their third album, but will have to do so without Ryan Ross or Jon Walker, who left the band to pursue other things[2], leaving Smith to be the lone founding member remaining in the band.

Other

In 2007, Smith was given a demo from The Cab at a Cobra Starship/Boys Like Girls/Cartel show. He later helped them sign to Decaydance Records, which was announced on May 16, 2007.[3] Smith, along with bandmate Brendon Urie, appeared in Fall Out Boy's music video, "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me" as vampires.[4]
