Spin-off may refer to:

  • Corporate spin-off, a type of corporate transaction
  • Government spin-off, civilian goods which are the result of military or governmental research
  • Research spin-off, a company founded on the findings of a member or by members of a research group at a university
  • Spin-Off (game show), a 1975 American game show
  • Spin-off (media), the process of deriving new radio programs, television programs, video games, or novels from already existing ones
  • Spin-off (religion), a newly formed organization which results from the division of a previously existing religious group
  • Spin-off product, a new product which uses the brand name of another product which already has a well-developed image

A spin-off refers to a game series that has been birthed from another game series. One example of this is the Wario Land game series which was spun off from the Super Mario Land game series, with its inaugural entry being the third Super Mario Land game for the Gameboy.
