Sri Sathya Sai Vidhya Vihar is a school in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The school began functioning in the year 1984. It was opened by the then district collector Sri Ajey Kallam. The school began its mission mainly based on the teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.


The school is located in Sector 8, MVP Colony, Visakhapatnam.


The school has an imposing design in area of 1.99 acres with a circular structure as its main building and adjoining it is a 'L' shaped block which houses the multipurpose yoga hall,science labs,the Vice Principal's room,kindergarten and other classes,a well equipped library that has more than 3000 books of varied subjects and reading room,art room and indoor sports room.The round building houses the Computer lab,Principal's room ,visitors room,audio visual room and the office room .Also enclosed in the campus is a prayer hall(mandir) which is used regularly for conducting religious and service activities. It has perhaps been the most sought after school.


Though the school is not directly affiliated with the central trust of Sri Sathya Sai Organizations, Prasanthi Nilayam, it does receive guidance from these quarters.The school is under the State Trust of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations.The Current head of the Governing body being Sri.G.K.Mukunda Rao.Other members of the committee include Sri.S.G.Chalam,Sri D.S.N.Murthy,Sri B.Reddi,Sri.N.Prasad Rao,Sri Anjanaiah and Sri.Ranga Rao.


The first principal was Ms. Prameela Abburi. She served in that post from 1984 until 2000. She was succeeded by Ms. A. Kausalya, who continues to be the principal till date. Mr.P.Purnanand servees the school as it's present Vice-Principal.The school has three academic co-ordinators:Mrs G.sai Lakshmi for the primary sections,Mrs C.Asha Rao for the middle school and Ms T.Janaki for the secondary sections.


The school runs under CBSE system of education teaching from L.K.G through standard 10.The school follows comprehensive evaluation system for the primary sections so as to avoid the examination stress. The school has very high success rates throughout since its inception. In the recent years, the school has been achieving highest grades of the entire city with an aggregate of 97% being the highest for the academic year 2008-2009 in the CBSE board examinations.Also it is remarkable that out of the 88 students that appeared for the exam in the year 2009 36 students secured more than 90% and all of them passed in first class .It has evolved academically as one of the best schools in the city.


There are four different houses in the school. All students are members of one of these houses viz. Sathya :- meaning Truth.The students wear Yellow colour flaps. Dharma :- meaning Right Conduct.The students wear Red colour flaps. Shanthi:- meaning Peace.The students wear Blue colour flaps. Prema  :- meaning Love.The students wear Green colour flaps. The students of these houses take part in various activites and compete against each other for house marks.At the end of every the house with the highest marks wins the 'Best House Award'.The other catogiries that are given awards for are:-

The school stresses on sports.The basketball,volleyball,badminton and throwball courts ,table tennis and chess equipment in the indoor sports room enhance the sporting atmosphere.Mathces are held regularly held between the houses in all of the above mentioned events.

Another special event that takes place in the school is the 'saturday special' which is held on the last saturday of every month in which the students of various houses compete in a sportive manner against the students of other houses in mind racketting rounds of quiz,dumbsharads,singing,playing muscical instruments etc.,

To promote and protect the indian cultre the school formed a heritage club under the INTACH Visakhapatnam chapter.It was Christined 'SHREYAS' and has been very succesful in promoting awareness among the Vizagities about the local heritage.The school conducted a 5km long 'Heritage Walk' from the school campus to the Hawa Mahal Visakhapatnam visiting the 'Kurupam Monument' fondly known as the 'TAj Mahal' Of Visakhapatnam.

The school also has an Audio Visual room which houses various musical instruments and latest audio equipment.The students of the school are given ample oppurtunities to improve their music skills.Also devotional and refreshing music is played during recess and during the morning assembly


The school has been Awarded the INTACH 'Best School Heritage Award' consecutively for the years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008.Also the school won the INTACH Heritage Quiz Award for the year 2006-2007 and were the runners up in the year 2007-2008.

The students of the school also won the Ahamakia award for which the students got to meet the former President Of India His Excellency A.P.J.Kalam on his visit as the President to The Fleet Review on 12th february 2006 at the Manasi Auditorium NSTL,Visakahapatnam.

Other awards incluse the Bharath Vikas Parishad Award for singing etc.,


The school has also got an active alumni organization called as Students of Sai(SOS). As stated in the website "Students of Sai" of the organization, the main mission behind this organization is to serve the needy and assist newer generations of students[1].

The school's morning assembly includes, talks by teachers, students etc. Every Thursday there will be a bhajan session which is in line with the activities of Sri Sathya Sai Organizations. Other days morning assembly includes singing songs of all the religions, chanting of hymns etc. The school strictly promotes the unity of religions. The school recently had its silver jubilee celebrations.
