History

Stade Reims was the most outstanding team of French football in the 1950's and early 60's, the club reached the final of the European Cup twice in that era.

Stade Reims plays in the Stade Auguste Delaune, which has a capacity of c. 25,000, hosting a match during the FIFA World Cup 1938.

The players Raymond Kopa and Just Fontaine are the most notable players from their halcyon days when the team guided by coach Albert Batteux faced Real Madrid twice in finals of the European Champions' Cup. Michel Hidalgo, also a player in this side, later became a European Football Championship winning coach of the French national team.
