SuperCar Challenge is a PS3-exclusive simulation racer released on the 4th September 2009 (UK) from publisher System 3, the same company that produced 2008's Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli. There are over 40 cars including Ferraris and the likes of the Bugatti Veyron and Aston Martin DBR9 and 22 tracks with attractions like the Nürburgring (Grand Prix section) and the Silverstone Circuit.

While most racing sims generally have a steep learning curve, System 3 has promised that SuperCar Challenge will have a variety of difficulty settings enabling anybody from novice to pro to be able to pick up this game and play. The AI also has been tweaked as some found it 'unfair' in the previous game Ferrari Challenge[1].

  • 16 Player Online/LAN multiplayer

  • 7 driving views, 2 of those internal (dash & driver's eyes)

Playseats, the Netherlands-based driving seat solution company and System 3 have teamed up for an exclusive racing partnership in efforts to support the SuperCar Challenge. They'll share input on creating the ultimate racing seat branded with the SuperCar Challenge logo and will host cross-promotion activities.[2]Playseats

In early January 2009 Eutechnyx announced a competition which allowed the community with access to Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli the chance to use its livery editing feature to design a livery that if said design was chosen it will be included in SuperCar Challenge. Ten spots were open for the winning designs, due to some outstanding designs submitted by a few, some designs were commissioned from those few outside of the competition. In light of this development, SuperCar Challenge will feature the ten competition winning designs along with the specially commissioned ones which could see the total user created livery designs making their way into SuperCar Challenge over 20.[3][4]

Ferraris feature heavily while Aston Martin, Bugatti, Chevrolet, Koenigsegg, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz McLaren, and Pagani are also represented.

The game starts with three cars available to drive offline: Aston Martin DBR9, Ferrari Enzo Ferrari and Pagani Zonda. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss and Ferrari 599XX were also immediately available using a code that was supplied to people who pre-ordered from Game. Without the code, you would have to spend in-game credits to purchase them.

Supercar Challenge added Hockenheim Circuit and alternative layouts for Infineon Raceway, Mugello Circuit and Silverstone Circuit to Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli's list of real world circuits. Fictional track Riviera was also added and is clearly inspired by Circuit de Monaco featuring a visually similar tunnel and corners very similar to Mirabeau and Grand Hotel Hairpin.
