Location of Tatsuno in Hyōgo Prefecture

Tatsuno (たつの市 Tatsuno-shi ?) is a city located in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan.

As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 82,046 and a population density of 394 persons per km². The total area is 210.93 km².

History

The city was founded on April 1, 1951.

Merger

On October 1, 2005, the towns of Ibogawa, Mitsu and Shingū from Ibo District merged into the city of Tatsuno. To reflect the new character of the city, the kanji characters in the city's name were changed from 龍野市 ? to たつの市 ?.
