Team Katusha (Russian: Катюша, UCI team code:KAT) is a Russian road bicycle racing team which participates in the UCI Pro Tour, using Ridley bikes.[1] It was founded for the start of the 2009 season, out of the former Tinkoff Credit Systems squad.[2] It is organised by the Russian Global Cycling Project foundation, which itself is funded by Russian businesses such as Gazprom, Itera and Rostechnologii.[2]

The team was launched with a large budget "in excess of Euro 15 million",[2] and immediately set about signing big name cyclists such as Robbie McEwen, Vladimir Karpets, Filippo Pozzato and Gert Steegmans.[3] The team first raced at the 2009 Tour Down Under.
