Premise

The story is loosely based on the Philip K. Dick short story, "Adjustment Team" and will feature a smooth-talking congressman whose political future is thrown in doubt by uncontrollable events and the arrival in his life of a mysterious ballerina.[3]

Matt Damon will play David Norris, a charismatic congressman who seems destined for national political stardom and a Fordham University alumnus who was a basketball player while he was there. He meets a beautiful ballet dancer named Elise Sellas, played by Blunt, only to find strange circumstances keeping their sparks from catching fire. Norris discovers forces are at work to keep them apart, and he peels the layers to find out why. The action takes place in various places in Manhattan.

Production

Universal Studios acquired the film in an auction held by Media Rights Capital, the producer-financier behind Brüno.[3] The involvement of Matt Damon was reported by Variety on February 24 2009[2] and of Emily Blunt on July 14 2009.[3] Production was expected to start in September 2009.[8] Current release date is July 30 2010.
