The Adventures of Pinocchio (Pinocchio Yori Piccolino no Boken), also known as The Adventures of Piccolino (ピコリーノの冒険 "Pikorîo no bôken" ), is a 52 episode German-Japanese co-production anime tv series by Nippon Animation first aired in Japan in 1976 on the Asahi Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Each episode was 26 minutes in length.[2 ] The story is based on the novel 'Pinocchio' by Italian author Carlo Collodi.[2 ]
This is the version which was the most popular within German-speaking countries, where it ran as simply "Pinocchio". The series differed from the original material in certain details. One difference is that the cricket was replaced by a duckling named Gina.[2 ]
