The Chaos is the fourth album by English post-punk revival band The Futureheads. It will be released on April 26, 2010 [1] [2]. The album is the band's second on their label Nul Records, and was preceded by a download-only single, 'Struck Dumb'[3] [4] [5], on 2 December 2009[6]. The track is an example of the band's "classic angular guitar-rock"[7] and has been described as "a blast of pop-punk energy"[5]. This track is likely to appear on the album, although no concrete track listing has been revealed as of yet. Drummer Dave Hyde has recently been busy with a side project known as Hyde and Beast[8] who make "60s and 70s quirky, almost carnival-esque music"[9], so it is not clear what direction the new Futureheads album will take. The band themselves have described the new material as "complicated"[10].
The track listing for the album is yet to be announced. Speculated track titles include 'Struck Dumb' (as mentioned above), 'The Chaos',[11] [12] 'Heartbeat Song',[11] [12] [13], 'The Baron',[12] 'The Connector', and 'I Can Do That'.[14]
