The Great Escape is Joe Budden's upcoming
third album and is set to be released in April, 2010.[1]
Background
Joe Budden has stated that the album is actually the final piece
of the concept trilogy, which includes "Halfway House" and "Padded
Room", as he finally finds salvation and freedom from a sense of
confinement that had been pervading his life and career. "The
Great Escape" is slated to be one of Joe Budden’s best efforts
yet, and will feature several established producers and artists,
which is a notable change from his usual formula. Joe Budden and Amalgam Digital
have announced that the album will be released in both CD and
digital form in April 2010.
In an interview with WPRK 91.5,
Budden says, "Great Escape hopefully", and repeats, "hopefully, in
February". He then goes on to say, "Best Joe Budden album ever.
Hopefully. Joe Budden fans, they're, they're...you say a date and
they hold you to it like it's Christmas; like it's set in stone or
somethin'. So hopefully, in February... but most likely we're
looking at a summer early fall release... and it's amazing" [2]
On August 11 2009, Amalgam Digital and Joe Budden released a
digital-only album which served as prelude to "The Great
Escape", entitled "Escape Route" . Joe Budden has said
that "Escape Route" will give fans a taste of what to
expect from him on his third studio effort. "Escape Route"
is available exclusively at amalgamdigital.com.
Music
Joe has stated on his blog that he will be working with Jadakiss, and the production
team J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Emile, Black Milk, and Nottz with the bulk of production
handled by J. Cardim and production team Sean C and LV [3][4]
