TheGrio.com is a black and African-American video news site that focuses on underrepresented stories in existing national news that are important to the African-American community.[1]

TheGrio was founded by the team who created the documentary film, Meeting David Wilson, and NBC News. Its purpose is to be the primary news source that satisfies the needs of African Americans to be informed and connected within their community. TheGrio's editorial mission is to cover news and events that have a unique interest and/or serious impact inside of the national African American audience.
