The Hitchhiker is a 2007 American horror film produced by The Asylum, directed by Leigh Scott. The film shares several similarities, both in title and plot, to the remake of The Hitcher, released in the same year.

The film centres on four young girls (played by Sarah Lieving, Shaley Scott, Jessica Bork and Sarah Hall respectively), who are on a cross-country road-trip to Las Vegas, and are currently travelling across the Nevada desert in their car.
En route, they pick up a seemingly-harmless hitchhiker (James C. Morris), and continue their journey, only for their car to break down in a seemingly-deserted motel on a lonely highway. Waiting for a mechanic to arrive, the girls settle down in the hotel for the night, but soon become the targets of a woman-hating murderer intent on killing them all, and who is somehow related to the mysterious hitchhiker.
