Song history

The song was written and produced by Madonna and long-time collaborator Patrick Leonard. It was written the day after "Who's That Girl", which became the first single from the album.[1] The song was only released as a single in the UK, some European countries and Japan. "I Know It", a track from Madonna's first album Madonna appeared as the B-side, with "Love Don't Live Here Anymore", later a single in its own right, added to the 12" release.[2] The song was included on a disco promo 12" single released in Brazil, also featuring songs by The Bee Gees and Tiffany.[3]

Madonna performed the song on her 1987 Who's That Girl Tour. In 1989, the song was used as the B-side for the "Express Yourself" single release.

Chart performance

The song was most successful in the UK, Ireland and The Netherlands, where it reached the Top 10. It peaked in the Top 40 in other countries across Europe.

A compilation video of clips from the film Who's That Girl was released in Europe. Another music video promoted the performance from the Who's That Girl Tour.
