.Although most of the film is set in Sitka, Alaska, filming actually took place in the Cape Ann area of Massachusetts, primarily in Rockport.^ As non-Americans, we wondered just where the filming took place in Alaska as we can't tell if all was on location or only lovely views of mountains that I assume are the authentic mountains of Alaska.
