"Throb" is a song by American singer Janet Jackson from her fifth studio album, janet. (1993). Released as the album's sixth single in 1994, the track is the second B-side to "Any Time, Any Place", the album's fifth single.

Song information

Throughout the song, Jackson describes the constant "pounding" from a sexual partner while moaning sexually, which emphasizes she is having an orgasm while having sex through the song; this can be proven in her performance of "Throb" on Saturday Night Live on May 14, 1994, where Jackson puts her hands towards her genitals pretending to stimulate herself while moaning. It was also performed on Jackson's janet. Tour and The Velvet Rope Tour. Choreographers Jossie Harris and Tina Landon provided additional talking vocals for the track.

"Throb" was released as a single in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom for which there was no promotion or music video. It received radio airplay in the United States and the UK, and charted on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay at number sixty-six. The other B-side, "And on and On", went on to chart as well. However, due to restrictions, both songs were ineligible to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. An exclusive remix of "Throb", the Morales Badyard Mix, appears on Jackson's 1995 remix compilation janet. Remixed.
