Tim Pagnotta (born January 17, 1977) is the main-lyricist, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for Californian rock band Sugarcult. Pagnotta grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.[1] He suffers from a hearing problem, tinnitus. Due to damage caused by the amplifiers on stage at Sugarcult shows, and the shows Pagnotta would attend as a fan, his ears were damaged leaving him hearing a high pitched sound in his ears frequently. Because of this, Pagnotta wears earplugs on stage, as do his fellow band members. Pagnotta was featured on the song "Shut It Down" from MxPx's 2007 album Secret Weapon.[2]

Pagnotta has also joined the 9th annual Independent Music Awards judging panel to assist independent musicians' careers.[3] He was also a judge for the 6th and 7th Independent Music Awards. [4]

Recently, Pagnotta was in California producing the debut album of Neon Trees, Habits, for Mercury Records.

Equipment

The guitar Pagnotta is most often seen playing is an Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Custom in Alpine White. Though he can also be seen playing a TV yellow Gibson 1960 special single cutaway Les Paul, a junior version of the Gibson SG '61 and on the band's earlier records a Sunburst, Wine Red or an Ebony Epiphone ES-335, most notably an Epiphone Sheraton II, which features in the promotional videos for "Bouncing Off The Walls" and "Stuck In America" from the "Start Static"

Recently Pagnotta has used his Gibson 1960 special as his main live guitar. Curiously the guitars' treble volume dial has been replaced, exchanging the standard black speed dial for a gold top hat.

he is also the producer of the new rockband neon trees
