Tiny Pop is a free-to-air British television channel owned and operated by CSC Media Group. It was launched on July 27, 2004 and broadcasts cartoons and pop music videos. Its sister channel is Pop which was launched on May 29, 2003. Tiny Pop is a replacement for the now-defunct Pop Plus, which was originally a secondary channel of Pop, but Tiny Pop is aimed at a younger audience (similar to CBeebies).tiny pop is for 3-5 year olds Tiny Pop's second sister channel is called Pop Girl and it was launched on August 6, 2007. Its third sister channel, Kix! was launch on May 19, 2008 replaced POP! +1, the 1-Hour timeshift of POP! which was launched on the same date as Pop Girl.

Tiny Pop broadcasts on Sky Digital channel 617 and Virgin Media channel 737.

Programmes are introduced through the channels to animated monkeys, known as the Cheeky Monkeys, who talk about cartoons, read out jokes from viewers and show artwork. from the end of June 2009, they were replaced with 3 new hosts, Molly, Leo and Pip.

Many programmes in the early hours of the morning are shown without commercial breaks, although late night cartoons generally between 22.30 - 01.30 are replaced by teleshopping. On October 11, 2007, Tiny Pop was launched on Virgin Media, along with its sister channel POP!.

Current Events

  • Friday Night Special - back-to-back episodes of a particular show that changed each week. This showed from 5pm to 9pm. the main shows for this event are
    • Rubbadubbers
    • Strawberry Shortcake
    • Timothy Goes to School
    • Will & Dewitt
  • These same shows above also have a marathon every Saturday 6am-12pm.
  • Every week between the hours of 1:30am and 6am, Pop airs a different program back-to-back without any breaks, excluding their own continuity shown in between.

Music

As well as cartoons, the channel used to air music videos, in short slots. Named "Tiny Pops", they showed old and new songs from various artists. Originally, the music videos primarily aired were from boy bands, but that later changed to mainly being animated music videos, or music videos that tie into popular family films.

Tiny Pop recently had its website launched which includes TV listings, games, jokes, an art gallery, a colouring center and competitions. Shortly after POP! and Pop Girl had their websites developed.
