Titanic II is a 2002 romantic-comedy metafilm written and directed by James David Walley as an unofficial sequel to the James Cameron film Titanic. It should not be confused with Titanic: Two the Surface, a faux sequel to the James Cameron film created by Robert Blankenheim.
The film, although advertised as a sequel to the James Cameron film, actually takes place in the "real" world where the events depicted in the 1997 film are pure fiction.
The story centres on Charlotte (Elizabeth Ammann), a young woman who has become so obsessed with the James Cameron film that she attempts to model herself on Rose DeWitt Bukkater (the character played by Kate Winslet in the 1997 film).
During a trip to a museum exhibition centred on the real-life sinking of the RMS Titanic, Charlotte meets a young caretaker named Tom (Will Sexton), and convinces herself that Tom is her equivalent of Jack Dawson (the Leonardo di Caprio character), and begins to comically act out several situations and scenes from the film in an attempt to win the unimpressed Tom over.
