Southern Railway (India) (IR Code:-SR) is the first of the 17 new railway zones of the Indian Railways. The headquarters of this zone is at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It comprises 6 railway divisions namely Chennai, Madurai, Palakkad, Salem, Tiruchirapalli and Thiruvananthapuram.
