Trumpet Mobile is a cellular telephone carrier that is owned by Affinity Mobile, a company specializing in turnkey[2] mobile virtual network operator products.
A prepaid carrier using the Sprint PCS[3] network, it was sold exclusively at RadioShack, but has more recently landed a national deal with Walgreens pharmacy[4] stores across the United States (including Puerto Rico). Trumpet targets general prepaid customers instead of a niche clientele such as Virgin Mobile USA[5] and is likely to appeal to adult customers who dislike contracts or would otherwise have to pay a deposit.

Trumpet offers two basic calling plans:
Trumpet has a family plan option where between 2 and 9 accounts can be linked, with one account named "Family Administrator", which can distribute funds from a family pool to other accounts, maintain a shared pool of funds, and receive notices when individual accounts in the family plan are low on individual funds.
Along with the telephone, the box contains a Green Dot "Cash Card", which acts as a debit card. With a sufficient balance on the card, the customer can transfer money to others via Western Union using an on-phone application.
Trumpet Mobile has international rates starting at $.03 per minute depending on the country and type of call. Typically, mobile-to-mobile calls cost more than mobile-to-land-line calls.[6]
