Tsuchiura Station (土浦駅 Tsuchiura eki ?) is an East Japan Railway Company (JR East) railway station located in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki, Japan.

Tsuchiura station is served by the JÅban Line.

Station layout

The station consists of one side platform and one island platform serving three tracks.

2 â– JÅban Line Toride ・ Kashiwa ・ Ueno

History

  • 4 November 1895: Tsuchiura Station opens.
  • 17 April 1918: Tsukuba Railway Line opens from Tsuchiura Station to Iwase Station.
  • 26 October 1943: Three trains crash at Tsuchiura killing 110 people.
  • 1 April 1987: Tsukuba Railway Line closes.
