Turks in Monenegro referes to Turkish settlers who began to migrate to Montenegro as part of the Turkish expansion during the Ottoman Empire.

History

In 1496, the Ottomans conquered Montenegro which was the beginning of Turkish settelment to Montenegro. Most of today's Montenegro was, after 1498, in Ottoman control. Half of today's Montenegro was part of the Sanjak of Scutari, while the other was part of the Sanjak of Bosnia, but central Montenegro, also known as Upper Zeta, was independent.

In 1704, the Montenegrins conducted a massacre of its Muslims known as the Investigation of the Turks on Christmas Eve.
