Ultra Records is an American independent electronic dance music record label. Ultra was formed in New York City in 1995 by former Polygram and Virgin Records executive Patrick Moxey, who is still currently the owner. Ultra's current roster includes American artists Steve Smooth, Kaskade, Sharam, Cedric Gervais, and international artists Chicane, Tiësto, Paul Oakenfold, Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz, The Young Punx, Benny Benassi, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Kraak & Smaak, Morcheeba, Fedde le Grand, Enur, Basshunter and others in North America. Ultra has featured releases from the aforementioned artists and many others such as The Crystal Method, Timo Maas, Sasha & John Digweed, 4 Strings, Panjabi MC, Despina Vandi and Junkie XL. Ultra Records is #57 on YouTube video site for overall massive audience.

On 24 July 2006, Ultra Records signed a pact to join the Alternative Distribution Alliance/Warner family and will start distributing the records in September 2006. Warner Media Group released a statement stating that Ultra Records would be partnering with Rhino Records for remix packages of Warner Media Group artists. With this new deal they will be releasing CDs by Tiësto and Kaskade. For the 24th Annual Winter Music Conference's IDMA, Ultra Records won the award for "Best American Dance Label" as revealed on March 25, 2009, making it the label's award the fourth year in a row. The label also received the award for Billboard Dance Airplay Label of the year for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Ultra Records was the A&R behind the GRAMMY award winning Public Enemy remix project which earned one of Ultra Records' artists, Benny Benassi, a GRAMMY for Best Non-Classical Remixed Recording. Ultra is distributed by EMI Canada and Vital UK.

On October 28, 2009, DJ Magazine announced the results of their annual Top 100 DJ Poll, with Ultra Records assuming 8 of the Top 10 spots, including Armin van Buuren (#1), Tiësto (#2), Above & Beyond (#4) and Paul van Dyk (#5).[1] Ultra Records represents a total 20 artists who placed in the top 100 this year.

Ultra Records is affiliated with Ultra International Music Publishing which represents writers and producers with songs with Kanye West, Rihanna, Akon, Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo, Ludacris, Sean Paul, Paul Wall, Trick Daddy, Deep Dish, Cedric Gervais, Kaskade, and others.

Ultra Records is expanding their presence in New York by hosting their first annual Ultra:NY which was in Central Park on September 16, 2006. The main headliners were Danny Tenaglia, Timo Maas, Paul Oakenfold, The Chemical Brothers, and Mylo. Ultra:NY also featured Erick Morillo, David Waxman, Boris, Liquid Todd, and Kevens.
