The University Partnership Programme, known as the UPP, was a PFI scheme between the various Universities and Jarvis plc to build and maintain student accommodation. In 2004, Jarvis Plc sold this business to the Alma Mater Fund which is managed by 3i and Barclays Private Equity, who now maintain the UPP accommodation as UPP Projects Ltd.
University Partnerships Programme (UPP) is the original provider of managed university accommodation. Since 1997 UPP has been working with universities, providing strategic options for residential and academic facilities that support both the immediate and long-term financial objectives of the universities with which UPP work.
UPP offer student accommodation in the following:
Ainsty Court and Hickleton Court in Halifax College and accommodation within Wentworth College was built under the UPP scheme.
UPP accommodation at York has been criticised by students for higher rent than College and University managed accommodation combined with a poor level of service.
