Treasure is currently developing a brand new game for the Xbox 360, after it pledges its support for the console at the Xbox Summit 2005 in Japan. On September 2005, Treasure announced that its new top-secret Xbox 360 title will be an original shooter. This brought great news to arcade shooter fans alike, who have been clamoring for a new game in the shooting genre since the successful Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga. A recent interview at 1UP with Treasure's president, Masato Maegawa, has revealed that the new shooter will use 3D graphics but yet retains the 2D gameplay, with a top-down scrolling genre. Hiroshi Iuchi and Atsutomo Nakagawa, who were the primary parties responsible for Ikaruga will be responsible for the game's development. Yasushi Suzuki, Ikaruga's primary artist, will likely not be involved, as he is no longer with the company and has conflicting projects.

The active status of the project remains unknown. In a September 2007 interview, Masato Maegawa confessed that the team had postponed development of their new game in order to port Ikaruga to the Xbox 360.[1] This port was released on April 8th 2008 through Xbox Live Arcade. In an October 2008 interview, Maegawa said that the development on the shooter is currently put on hold, for two reasons. The team had to put it aside to work on Sin and Punishment: Sora no Kōkeisha and other projects, even though they had put in a year's worth of development into the 360 shooter. The second reason is that the team has reservations on whether the game will sell enough units to warrant development time, as sales of Xbox 360 have not really picked up. However, he doesn't rule out that the shooter will happen.[2]
