History

Vacuum as a band was formed in 1996 by Anders Wollbeck, Alexander Bard and Mattias Lindblom. One of their first singles, "I Breathe", had much success in Europe and is their most famous song. At that time it was a symphonic synthpop project featuring Bard, Marina Schiptjenko (formerly of synthpop group Page), and Mattias Lindblom. Anders and Mattias met when Vacuum recorded their first album "The Plutonium Cathedral". They work out of their studio "Home" situated in central Stockholm, Sweden but are constantly on the move to wherever their work takes them. The original lineup split after the second album when Bard left the band for producing Alcazar. Marina left the band after the third album.

In 2004 Vacuum released their fourth album "Your Whole Life Is Leading Up To This". It was followed by two singles "Six Billion Voices" in 2006 and "Walk On The Sun" in 2007. Due to high demand as song-writers, Vacuum the band is only active from time to time. The band still enjoys a huge fan-following.

As songwriters they have worked with many artists around the world. In 2007, they've worked with artists such as Garou, Tarja Turunen (I Walk Alone, Die Alive etc), Monrose (What You Don't Know), Cinema Bizarre (Heavensent, Get Off), Edyta Gorniak and many more.

In April 2008 the band released the songs "Know By Now" and "My Friend Misery", a duet with Marcella Detroit of Shakespears Sister on their official myspace site, as the first release from their collaboration with Austrian pianist Michael Zlanabitnig.
